Temperature gauge problem SV6 2006
Hello all,
I own a 2006 SV6, it has a problem with the temperature gauge. Some days it works normally and some days the meter is stuck at the minimum reading. When the problem occurs the cooling fans for the engine run constantly as soon as the engine is running, regardless of temperature. The local GM dealer looked at it last week and they replaced the temp sensor, but a day later the problem occurred again. They will look at it again next week, but I don't trust them to find the actual problem so I ask here if somebody could point me in the right direction. When the problem occurs the engine does not start as easily as normal when I start it hot, it takes a few extra seconds for it to start. Cold start is no problem. Regards from Sweden, Europe. |

Re: Temperature gauge problem SV6 2006
Now they have looked at it again. Now they say that there is nothing wrong with the car. The problem code is P0116 and this occurs because the car is equipped with the "Webasto coolant heater". After the car has been parked with the engine off for 8 hours the sensor for "coolant water" and for "air intake" must read the same temperature or the problem code appears.
So if I switch on the Webasto that cause the cooland water to become warm the problem occurs. They say it is a known issue with no solution. I will contact the company that installed the Webasto and ask what they suggests. |
