Re: Completed Lotus Esprit Sport 300
yes i agreed too...this is one very 'problem' kit!
did it many years ago, never got to finish it & thrown away! the buldging wheel setting is one of the many kit's inaccuracy, very hard to correct it. nice work!

Re: Completed Lotus Esprit Sport 300
Excellent, realistic looking result from what was obviously not a great kit!

Re: Completed Lotus Esprit Sport 300
Oooh, nice. Hope this one keeps you building more cars in the future. I always like to see your work. You seem to manage all the obstacles a kit offers...as I moan about small fitment issues...

Impressive!
I don't know the kit myself but you've turned this into a masterpiece. Very clean. I like it a lot. And I do love the colour choice ! |

Re: Completed Lotus Esprit Sport 300
Wow - that is a very impressive build, even more so in light of this kit's reputation. Excellent work sir!

Re: Completed Lotus Esprit Sport 300
Hi Kunta,
even the more advanced modellers struggle with that kit. I bet there are a lot of (never to be finished?) WIPs out there. This one sure sets very high standards and it shows many people that it takes "a slight bit" more in terms of commitment and the necessary patience to complete. Frankly, it is the very best of the very small fleet of completed Esprit kits! Much respect! You tackled all the obstacles this kit has to offer and turned it into a masterpiece. Very well done!!! The stance is about right now, they do sit a bit high in OE specification. Even worse, I suspect that Monogram used a US-spec version to create the kit. US spec cars had to be lifted in order to meet the pedestrian safety standards concerning bumper height (see also: US.spac MGB). You gave me the necessary inspiration to dig my two (!) WIPs out of the darkest part of the cellar and start working on them again. Thank you! PS: The side indicator seems to be a bit large?! |
