I put a pacer performance led tailgate light, the outback f5, on a 2007 silverado. I can hook it all up except for the red (power) wire. It says to connect to a 12v constant power source, but I cant find it. Where do I splice this wire into?

Re: LED tailgate light on 07 silverado
check at the trailer plug and see if there is a switched power out there. you do not want constant power to the lights it will drain the battery when the key is off.

Re: LED tailgate light on 07 silverado
Isn't there a 4 prong plug that you just plug the light bar into the one on the truck? I have had several lite bars and that's how they worked plus I went to a website that sells the pacer performance led tailgate light and that's what it says to do. If you have the trailering package then you might have the big plug and need an adapter...or you could just hard wire it into the trailer jack's wiring harness at the rear of the truck.

Re: LED tailgate light on 07 silverado
I figured it out. Thanks. It has the four prong plug, but then theres a white (reverse) and red (12v constant) wire. Those have to be hard wired, I just wasnt sure where the red one went, But I found it on the harness and tapped into that wire. Now it works great.
