Been getting an engine light for the past few months. Appears to be the old EGR valve so seeing that it's $300, I replaced it with one I purchased from the salvage yard ($40). Anyway, although I've disconnected the battery on more than one occasion, the engine light continues to pop up after I drive it about 2 miles (then stays on). Do I need to have the EGR reprogramed by the Dealer? Hopeing it's not some other issue.
Thanks! |

Re: EGR Valve Issue - 03 Impala
If you mean the little check engine light, you have to clear the code with a code reader.

Re: EGR Valve Issue - 03 Impala
Since there are several EGR flow and circuit related odb-ii DTCS that can be generated post the specific DTC. Unless the used EGR was bad obviously there are other issues that requires proper troubleshooting. There is no specific EGR programming by the GM dealerships.
