some one trie steal it n yanked ign. out breakin column...had made a key to run it...but always has had air bag n security lights lit...finally was able to replace column (junk yard one) it did fix the cruise n wipers (they now werk correctly) but still have secuirty n airbag lights on n no horn...my question ..what is the security supposed to do??(blow horn does it light lights?)
how can this be fixed ?any help be preciated...airbag i figure is gone...was gone in car n goen in junk column...so security sytstem is what lookin to repair thanks paps
also seems the wipers werk fine but will not return to the lower off position on windshield?any idears there?

You'd get more responses if you use proper grammar and spelling.

The security light on the dash has nothing to do with a security system. It instead indicates a problem with the VATS or vehicle anti-theft circuit. The VATS circuit will not allow the car to start without reading the correct resistance value on the key. If you look at the key it has a black circle with two prongs sticking out the side. Thats the resistor chip that the VATS reads.

thanks that is what im talkin bout...there hasnt been a key fer yrs(azzes tried steelin it n broke ign all ta L) ive made my own key n used since got it...but now having new (junk yard column) n now with the key you describe...id hoped the fuggan security light would go off .. must nawt a werked very good cause after foos riped the column n switch out ,,itd run fine by usin pliers etc to turn what was left of switch...anyway wud do i hafta do ta like reset it... i have a 01 s10 n a 05 grand prix n ifn open door after lockin wid the remote ,,the secuirty light blinks n the horn blows..anyway main question is nowthat alls hooked up as per factory ,,what has ta be done to stop the secuirty light from blinkun? thanks in advance fer anybodys knowledge they care ta share paps

well sons been runnin it fer awmost couple weeks n she ain reset herself so rekon that ain a option...runs starts evo thin else is fine..cept that security light saty on ,,,oh n the wipers wont go back down in off position,,they stay up on glass a tad bit,,,any idears???
