EGR Valve - O2 Sensor
Where can I get a new EGR valve for a 94 Metro, and how does one know what kind of O2 sensor you have i.e. 4 wire, 2 wire? (without gettingunder and looking).

Re: EGR Valve - O2 Sensor
94 should have a 1 wire O2. You don't have to get undneath, just open the hood. As your facing the engine it will be on left side of the exhuast manifold.
EGR. Best place is the junk yard. Make sure you soak the built up of carbon in a cleaner and remove it. MAKE SURE YOU ALSO CLEAN OUT THE EGR passage from the exhaust manifod to the valve and from the valve to the TB. a new egr is worthless unless the passage way is clean. More than likely you can just clean up the valve you have. The base fills up with carbon that plugs them up, but the valves are pretty heavy duty and last a long time. |

Re: EGR Valve - O2 Sensor Intake Manifold help
I believe I have a similar problem on my 1997 1.0. I have changed both 02 sensors. Now the falt code goes to EGR. I have taken off the EGR Valve and cleaned it very very thoroughly. I still get an EGR code. Does this mean my next step is to take off the intake Manifold & clean the passages??
Anything else I can do or test, before rippin off the intake?? Thanks John |

Re: EGR Valve - O2 Sensor
you don't remove the intake. you rimove the exaust manifold.
http://www.teamswift.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25919 cleant the port from the exhaust manifold to the egr and then from the egr to the tb There are several ways to clean it, but I use a long flexible brush, cleaner and compressed air |
