90 Accord Low Beams
Just bought a 1990 honda accord EX and everything seems to work well in it except for the low beams.
When I turn the car on, running lights automatically turn on. When I turn on the lights there is no difference in light intensity until I flash up the high beams. Is this normal? If not, where would I look at solving the issue? The current light intensity on low beams seems very unsufficient. Thanks for any help!

Re: 90 Accord Low Beams
Well, I can't say with any confidence, because we never had DRL on Hondas here. So I don't know what the circuit looks like.
GM had them here long before anyone else, but the way they are set up the DRL module burns the high beams at lower voltage until the headlights come on, not the low beams. So I can't say, because I don't know how Honda set it up. But I'd probably suspect the DRL module if I had to guess....

Re: 90 Accord Low Beams
just got back from driving at night through a heavy rainstorm.
I'm sure that Honda did not design the Low Beams to be of such poor intensity that I feel unsafe looking 20ft ahead of my car at highway speeds! I have read some other forums online here that speak of 're-soldering' DRL modules due to cracked contact pts. Is this something anyone else on here has done before and if so, can you direct me to a good schematic showing me where the module is and what pts to be looking at re-soldering? I need a more powerful Low Beam! Cheers
