Chevy Man with a Dodge

Humor me on this one...

I was raised a Chevy man, my father is a dedicated Chevy owner, and I had lived my life driving Chevy's and very proud. I have four kids and my oldest, 17 now, is a smart young man. He's been saving his money to buy himself his own truck, and he and I have been looking at S-10's, Camaro's, and older 2-door Tahoe's/Blazer's. So he calls me the other day and says he found the perfect truck, it was an 89 with only 116,000 miles on it and super clean. Driven by an old man who used it mostly on his farm. I said it sounds pretty good, and then he told me it was a Dodge - Oh $%^*. Setting my Chevy pride aside we went to look at it and it sure was a clean ride, with low miles. So now I have a 89 Dodge RamCharger in my driveway, next to my Chevy truck. You raise them up strong, teach them right from wrong and they go out and buy a dodge truck where did I go wrong .

OK, now here is my real problem, it is an LE-150 with a 318 V-8, this thing has no power. The previous owner did put a 3 inch lift with 33" tires on 15 inch rims. It also has a Holley TBI on top with an oversized air filter can. But this thing has no gitty-up. Since I am a Chevy man, I have to admit I am just stupid when it comes to Dodge trucks. I'm looking for some low-buck (my sons $) ways to get a little more pep out of this old 318. Any ideas would be appreciated.

A complete tune up is a good place to start. And depending on what gears it has, the 33's might be making it slugish.

Counting the drive shaft rotations per one rotation of the tire times 2 gives me somewhere around 3.73:1 in the rear end, same as my chevy half-ton. There is also some play in the end-bearings so it looks like one of the things on the list, next to tune up is to replace the bearings.
