Interior lights on/off after 10 - 15 min.???
When you open the door your interior lights come on.If the truck is not running and the door is open the lights are suppose to turn off after 20 minutes.
Found that it's called, Battery Rundown protection What do you replace to fix that? Mine act as if they're trying to turn off but they go dim and I hear a muffled buzzing. After I tap on the switch on the side where the door makes contact to turn it off it will light back up. Sorry for all the questions. Thanks in advance Last edited by dksram; 04-30-2008 at 03:23 PM. |

Re: Interior lights on/off after 10 - 15 min.???
What year?
I do not know the why end. But it is a No problem on the change over. A lot of post gets switched. Besides you get better coverage here. What area is the bussing coming from? 20 minutes is a lon delay. Do they work the same when you open and close the passanger door? How are you tapping the switch? A tap beside it or taping the plunger? Do they turn off in 20 minutes or just stay on and buss at you? MT

Re: Interior lights on/off after 10 - 15 min.???
It buzzes under the dash near the headlight switch.Pressing either plunger will stop the noise until 20 min. then it will do it again.
The lights work normal when opening and closing the doors or using the domelight switch. It's just the lights have a Battery Rundown protection feature and that feature is not cutting the lights off when a door is left open. They just dim a little and then the buzzzzzzzzzzzzz. ![]() P.S. The moving of the posts will make it harder for some to locate them.If it is for the S-10 it should not be moved to the Blazer threads/posts.They are mainly for the S-10 as I don't own a Blazer. Also the post for 3rd door handle replacement will not help anyone whom owns a Blazer. |

Cheeck dome light relay and get the body computer scanned for codes and data.
If any codes post back body code no. MT

How do you check the domelight relay?
Scan from Autozone okay? |

AZ only does OBD11 engine codes.
You need a full body/engine capable scanner to get into other stuff. Swap relay with another one same no. MT
