Completed: Hasegawa 1994 Impreza Rally

This one just finished. An older issue of Hasegawa’s Subaru Impreza WRX (Rally 94/95) in 1/24th scale. A great little kit as is normal with this company’s models, which included a small sheet of photoetch. I got hold of Renaissance’s replacement decal set to depict the 1994 Rally GB winning car of Colin McRae, which set him on the road to his World Championship the year after.

Sitting high on gravel suspension the replacement decals give the correct day-glo look, and the Tamiya TS-50 spray looks spot-on.

A nice easy build which benefits from careful finishing, and on to the shelf it goes!

Nice and clean build, well done. But the body painting isn't correct, should be non-metallic Zero Paint 53C - Montecarlo blue.
Metallic Mica blue (TS-50) was used from 1997 when the first Impreza WRC has been launched.

Very nice! I love these older Gp A rally cars, and yours looks great.

Sorry to say, but Koudy is right.
Nice model, but wrong Color.
Right Color for Group A Imprezas was / is what they called "555 blue", which is a non-metallic deep blue with a shade of purple.

Although the color isn't correct. Blues are always best when they are metallic. Just my opinion. Unless it's porsche 918 colbalt blue

In the pictures, the Subaru looks very good. The plastic plate under the front number plate could have blackened or thinner. It looks damn thick. The right blue is at Zero Paints (ZP-1041)

best regards
Jürgen
