Porsche 997 Troubles ? Thought that they were fixed.

I have been searching for an original generation 997 for a possible purchase, but in my searches have been finding out about some serious mechanical problems, almost like a ticking time bomb. My test drive was great, and i really enjoyed the 6 speed manual tranny in the Carrera S.
