Air Bag Light is On

Just bought a 2004 Chev. Malibu maxx. The Air Bag warning light was on. The previous owner stated it came on after the radio was re-programed, after the computer was replaced. Is there a way to determine what part of the system is bad. I hate the thought of taking it to a Dealer.

Needs to be scanned with a Sirs function scanner, unless you find one of the yellow harness connectors unplugged.
