Ebbro MP4/30, Fujimi MP4/6, FW-16, MP4-27 1/20th kits
All these were going to be curbside kits regardless if an engine was included.
Have to say first off that by far the MP4/30 Ebbro kit was the best kit compared to Fujimi. It was easy to assemble and the instruction were easy to follow. Parts fit like they should and were done quite well. The MP4/30 was done with only a few mods like replacing the steering column with a stainless steel shaft. The rear drive axles were replaced with a copper rod. The rear exhaust was done with an aluminum tube and the undertray plank replaced with a real wood version from Acu-Stion along with adding the JW decals. The antenna was made from scratch out of stainless steel. The MP4/6 kit was by far the worst kit in terms of parts and fitment issues. I never had such a bad experience until I ran into this kit. The included decal number colors were incorrect as they were printed red. I ended up using some 10 yr old spare decals that were more in line. I used the decal sheet from F'artifice for the Marlboro's but the fluorescent colors did not hold up once the clear went on. My spare decals from Studio 27 which were 10 yrs old held up better. The FW-16 did include the driver, but the helmet had a defect and the instructions did not state to remove seat to fit driver so I may add him later if possible since seat is in the car already. The blue paint is bit darker than I would have liked but the decals were dark blue so I went with a the color that matched them best. I omitted the yellow rim decals as I didn't like the look of them. The MP4/27 actually went together quite well. The upper cowling is just snapped into place along with the sidepods. That chrome finish does not get along with glue so you have be real careful when joining the parts together. No real mods just straight out the box build with some painted carbon fiber detail added. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by endot800; 09-30-2016 at 12:23 PM. |

Great looking cars! What type of paint did you use for the MP4/30 and MP4/27? It looks perfect.

For the MP4/27, I used Alclad Chrome paint ALC107 with Model Master Gloss Black Enamel 1747 for the base coat. |
