2005 GP intermittent start issues

my 05 GP randomly decides not to start. it turns over well but no fire . Sometimes even when I just stop for gas when its already warm. if I leave it for a few minutes usually it will start, run a little rough for a minute then run fine till next episode. no faults show up. I was thinking maybe the fuel pump relay was acting up but thought I'd get some feedback before I dove in.

Re: 2005 GP intermittent start issues

When it won't start, you have to determine if it's fuel problem, a spark problem, or air flow problem.....

Some things you can quickly check.....

Pull the vac line to the f/p regulator, and look for fuel in the vac line.....

Disconnect the MAF....if it starts, you probably need a new one....

Slightly step on the accel pedal and see if it starts.....

Otherwise check fuel pressure and spark.....

Check the throttle body. They like to gum up and get extremely dirty. When dirty the car might not start correctly.
