2005 Town Country - P0032 Oxygen Sensor

P0032 Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1, Sensor 1)


have done alot of looking into this and need some help. have read that in 2005 chrysler changed the ohms levels for the oxygen sensors and may need to have bcm reflashed to get a new oxygen sensor to work wheither its dealer item or not, is this true if i were to buy a mopar oxygen sensor? aftermarket is out of the question being the ohm readings would require me to spend some time at the dealer. is this code a defective sensor? or could it be related to the thermostat being faulty? am not low on antifreeze and temp gauge reads normal. any bit of info would being great, thanks...

Not at all saying it's bunk but I don't recall reading anything about a BCM reflash requirement after an O2 sensor change. If anything I would think it would be a PCM reflash but I don't recall that either. Have you talked to a dealership? Either way it's about the same cost.

The PCM regulates O2 sensor heater power. It's either the sensor, connections, wiring or the PCM that's the culprit: http://www.obd-codes.com/p0032 Thermostat? Your normal temp gauge would count it out. Most of the time the heater coil in the sensor overheats, melts and breaks the wire and opens the circuit creating infinite resistance - an "open" in electronics language. If you connect an ohmmeter to the two heater circuit wires at the O2 sensor connector that's what you'll probably find.
