keyless remote

i have a 2008 equinox, i recently in stalled an aftermarket radio. everything works fine but one thing, my remote only works when i am like 5 feet away, do i ned to reprogram them, bothe remotes are doing the same. before i could be like 25 feet away.

Maybe it was coincidence that this happened after installing the radio, because I don't think the radio has anything to do with the keyless remote....

Not sure where the receiver/antenna for the keyless entry is in the vehicle.... maybe the new radio somehow blocks the signal? The only way to verify, would be to put the old radio back in and check the range....

OR

Stick the remote under your chin(touch the underside of the chin with remote), and press your button to see if the range is increased......worked for me when I wanted to find a car across the street in another lot....makes your body act like a large antenna....
