Other wheel styles?
Other than BBS RX and RXIIs what have you guys run on these cars? I'm looking for a cheaper 18" wheel that will hold up to track use. It'd be nice to be able to share a common tire size between the Panoz and my Corvette. However the two cars use different bolt spacing so we can't share wheels.
In the Corvette world C5 Z06 rear wheels are the best bang for the buck track wheel out there. They're very light and strong and can be had for $600-$800 a set. I run 18x10.5s all around with a 275/35 tire. For the Panoz I was looking at the various 18x9.5s from TSW. They're another popular choice in the Corvette track world. TSW Nurburgring ![]() TSW Interlagos ![]() ~Brian PS - if you have any 18" BBS wheels you want to sell PM me pictures and a price.

Re: Other wheel styles?
I have a set of 18x10.5 of these. They weigh 19.05 vs the TSW 21.05!!!rpf1-large.jpg

Re: Other wheel styles?
Brian,
CobraFang runs the first TSW one you showed (Nurnberg?) and loves them. I think in 10.5 x 18. He is running 305 section width tires and has no clearance issues. If you need the back spacing, get with Gary Jones (Motorsport) outside of Augusta. He stables the car. I think Tom found them for about $225 each. Mike |

Re: Other wheel styles?
I bought a set from these guys (17X10) for my car. http://oewheelsllc.com/s.nl/sc.16/ca...56/ctype.SS/.f I paid $510.00 for the set, although the are located 75 miles south of me so I went by and picked them up, saving on shipping. They also make them in 18X10 and can make you up a set of 4. I had three sets of these in 16", when they still carried them, for my 3200# SCCA A/S Mustang. Never had an issue with wheels, despite the 'Made in China" sticker that was on them.

Re: Other wheel styles?
I really like these - http://oewheelsllc.com/Wheels_3/Whee...els-Anthracite
![]() But they're 25lbs each which is 5lbs a wheel heavier than my Z06 18x10.5s. That seems to be the norm for the reproduction wheels (being 5-6 lbs heavier)

Re: Other wheel styles?
Call CCW for a 3 pc. rim. Might be a little more but trust me you will thank me after your first incident. I have replaced lots of outer wheel haves from minor contact that would have wrecked 1pc rims. Also you could have them make you spare center sections with diff. bolt patterns and could share them between vette and panoz with an hr. + of easy wrenching.

Re: Other wheel styles?
I had Classics on my old Z06. Very nice wheels for sure, but they're far more expensive and the mesh design makes it harder to keep tabs on the brakes.

Re: Other wheel styles?
They pay for themselves when you wreck a few :-)
My rims are off so much (as all race cars usually are) the monitoring of the pads is pretty easy. Also, I kind of know how long they last :-) They do suck to keep clean!
