1988 Sauber Mercedes C9.

Did my own custom scheme on the paint, decided to do something fresh.
First attempt at really wiring an engine, and I'm really chuffed with how it turned out! Really happy with the paint too. This was my first time really working with photo etched and making seatbelts, so this model was a lot of firsts for me. Don't let these crappy photos ruin the model for ya! I really think this is my best work yet. I'll be uploading better pics soon. Tomorrow I'll take outdoor ones, hopefully. I don't have an indoor photography thing so I did the best I could with paper.
I could really do with a better camera too. Thanks for looking!

UPDATE: Outdoor pics added!

(The heat shield on the suspension unit moved out of place on me in that photo there, ignore that!)

Thanks for looking, comments and criticisms appreciated!

- Tomo

Looks great! Custom paint is really unique and well done. Once you start wiring and using seat belt sets, its amazing how much more life-like a kit becomes. Once you go seat-belt, you never go.....er.....decals.

Looks good. Nice metalflake. Now, about those mold seams on the tires...

Re: 1988 Sauber Mercedes C9.

Thanks everyone!
@Greg - How can I get rid of them? I tried sanding them a bit, and it wasn't really doing anything, and it really started to annoy me with them still on there. Any help? Cheers!

Re: 1988 Sauber Mercedes C9.

Very nice model, it looks great especially the engine, very well done with that. You can make the seam removal on the tyres easier and quicker by mounting the tires onto a drill chuck and then spinning the drill at a slow speed whilst you hold sandpaper against the tyre. Be careful and work slowly, checking the tyres regularly so that you don't remove too much rubber, just enough to get rid of the seam, hope this helps..
