Revell 2010 Camaro
Here is my finally finished 2010 Camaro from Revell. Overall it is a good kit. I had a couple of fit issues that prevented it from being a great kit. First, the windows have practically no mounting point and I had to clamp them to the roof to make them seal with glue. Second, the rear side windows are made to slide in and glue. The mounting location is adequate. However, my windows were too small to fit, even with multiple coats of paint in the window opening. Finally, the front of the body would not seal to the inner fenders and I had to clamp and super glue them to get them to fit. One more issue that I would highly recommend you to fix before you get to the point of no return (like I did) is the ride height. This kit sits up like a 4x4. WIth just a bit of ingenuity, it could be made to sit much lower.
On to the details. I wanted to paint it Synergy Green, but WOW it was way too expensive. I compromised and used Testors One Coat Lacquer Mystic Emerald over Diamond dust. It's close enough for me. The wheels and grpund effects are Duplicolor Charcoal. I did some custom painting with green in the interior such as the rear package tray and console. I painted the rear panel with the Bowtie Semi-Gloss black to give it more of that retro feel. Since I used the custom rear diffuser, the kit supplied exhaust tips didnt fit. I made new ones out of K&N Aluminum tubing and matched the opening contour to the contour of the exhaust opening. Overall, I am really happy to have this car on my shelf. I wish it sat lower, but it doesn't so I will live with it. I may pick up the AMT convertible to see what kind of damage I can do to it. I apologize for the quality of a couple of decals, my camara's sensor is on the fits and I have to send it in for service. Let me know what you think. Re: Revell 2010 Camaro
Too bad you could not fix the ride height. It would look really good sitting a little lower.
Good choice on the color combo and thank you for all the feedback. I have one in progress and I will take your comments into consideration. |

Re: Revell 2010 Camaro
Thanks for the feedback! I have been thinking about how I may be able to still lower the ride height. It won't be easy but I may try. I love the color combo. Every time that I see it, I like it even more. The Charcoal with the green is so unusual that it really pops.
I forgot that I didn't take any photos of the engine. I want to take some better photos but until I get my camera sent back to Canon and get it back, the photos may not get any better. Rob |

Re: Revell 2010 Camaro
I've had a question about underhood shots, so here are a couple. I also took a better photo of the rear showing the exhaust tips that I made. Still no shots in natural light yet. That may be a while since the sun won't be seen around here for the next week or so.
