'00 Steering Wheel Volume Buttons

The dash lights are starting to go, guess it's just that time. At last inventory, the right-side of the tach will go out (yet a whack to the dash fixes that), and the recirc-button is out (fresh-button stays lit). Yet that brings up the question...

Is the steering wheel volume buttons on an '00 supposed to light up?

The other three areas on the wheel light up (cruise, channel, tune, mute, etc), yet seem to remember that the volume buttons never lit.

Not the end of the world, yet if I ever get a parts-Silhouette, it would be on the list of things to check. Thanks!

Yes, they are all suppose to light up, so you can see what button to push when it's dark.......

If, after the first few weeks, you need to see what buttons to push in the dark, you have other things to deal with...

Ok, thanks. I'll keep my eye out for the spare parts. Don't care if they light or not, yet it's irritating (as a car-guy) when three quadrants light up, and one doesn't.

Appears I have the steering wheel with option UK3 (radio controls).

I can find plenty of '97-'99 controls on eBay, yet not '00. They appear to look the same, at least by the pictures.

Anyone have any idea if the '97-'99 steering wheel controls will work with an '00?
