Sounds like a typical crank sensor or fuel pump failure.
Can you hear the pump turn on for just a second when you turn the key to on/run? If you have the 3.8 ltr engine it should have a fuel test port on the fuel rail. When you press the plunger fuel should spurt out not just dribble. The best way to test pump operation is to connect a fuel pressure gauge to the test port. You should see around 50 psi. Doesn't need to be running as long as you prime it by cycling the key from off to on/run a few times.
Are you getting spark? If not check for voltage output at the coil connector. If it's not there you most likely have a bad crank sensor though it could be a bad PCM, ASD relay or wiring. Crank sensors will often fail without generating a code.
