95 neon r&r stering column, Broken locking ignition
I have a loud clunk in my steering column. I raised the car and had someone turn the steering wheel back and forth, while I was under the car listening. I located the noise to the steering column. I then looked in my manual. Everything would be fine, but someone has already been in there causing mischief. The steering doesn't lock anymore and when I took the airbag module off the steering wheel, the airbag module electrical connector is gone. The horn is connected but doesn't work. This tells us someone atempted a repair, and left it wrong. So, my question is how do I continue to R&R the steering column without the ignition locking.

Pull the steering wheel off and have a look at your clockspring. It probably needs to be replaced.
