Re: Amp and Sub installation

a 4 channel amp is for ....... 4 speakers. They make 5 channel amps for what you want to do.

Re: Amp and Sub installation

If you just have once sub and are destined to use this configuration, you can do the following.

You CAN , parallel 2 sets of speakers, the run them in series with each other. That should leave a 4 ohm configureation. Run them off the two front channels (run in 4 ohm mono), and use the rear channels for a sub (4 ohm mono). However, it wont be as effective as running 2 amps (your 4 ch and a seperate for the sub). But, if your amp is 2 ohm mono stable, then that will buy you some extra kick. But I doubt it is. And this depends on the impedance of your sub whether or not you can even do this or not.

Again, I wouldnt exactly recomend this, but it wont hurt anything and you will only be low on power. But in truth, you don't need as much power as most people might think. High end is easy to push. And Im guessing by your choice equipment, that your sub is not very power hungry. Put it in a decent box, and it will suffice untill you get another amp. You won't win an SPL contest, but you will have amplified sound that is better than nothing.

I do have a nice 5ch infinity if you are intersted, pm me :-)

Also, that's some nice equipment you got there, Paul

Re: Amp and Sub installation

I honestly never 100% completed the CRX. It's a LOT of time, money, work, etc .. to make a competition car.
