2000 Alero GLS 2.4L - Rack & Pinion Mount

Greetings again.

Once again I seek your wisdom to fix a problem.

This is the third time I've repaired the Rack and Pinion (actually needed help) and I've been told the mount was rotted away.

I would like to know if this is common? If so, what would be the best way to repair the mount??

Thanks in advance!

DarkHorseComm

PS. The car is once again sidelined and i have very important doctors appointments to make. I sincerely thank you for any assistance.

What kind of repais have you been doing to the rack and pinion? what mount is rotted out? If its the mounts on the frame that are rusted out, the only real repair is to replaced the cradle. If it is the mount on the drivers side, I have seen people use a nut on the backside of the cradle, if there is enough material there to support it.
