looking to buy an 05

Suburban, 1500 LT model with very nice leather, 92000 miles, DVD, Onstar, 4X4, tow pkg, etc. That's the good stuff. The bad: it has been hit in the front, repaired, and either has a salvage title or maybe a rebuilt. I haven't seen the paper yet. The repair work looks very good except the right front fender isn't lined up very well (touches the p.door). I'm taking it to a body/frame shop in the AM to look at it.

Also, the "Service ride control"(?) light is on and it might need repair of the Autoride. I know those replacement shocks are expensive, but I suspect there was damage to the sensors or selenoids from the collision rather than a failure of the actual shocks. Everything else is supposed to be working fine.

The price is right, but not if I have to put $2K into repairs. Still, I'm about to put up cash for the burb and want some opinions on buying what could be the best deal of the year...or the worst moneypit in Nevada.

chirp...chirp...chirp.

I bought it, but I'd sure like some feedback about others' issues with these.

Only thing I can think of is make sure the oil is level as my 04' burns about a quart every 3k miles...also watch out for coolant leak...you may not actually see the leak as the intake gaskets are crap.

Very interesting. Do you suppose those gaskets are being eaten up by the wonderful Dexcool???

BTW: what kind of suspension do you have? I'm trying to figure out if I can replace my Autoride with regular HD shocks. I hate anything with airbags...too many problems and mine are already dead from what I can tell. I don't even know if the pump works, but the bags look deflated and kinda dryrotted.
