auto t/c switch 1999 suburban
The indicator light on the switch for 2 wheel drive does not illuminate after engine start up.Once the tranfer case is shifted to different positions and then back to 2 wheel, the indicator light comes on.The tranfer case does shift properly.Would it just be an issue with the switch itself or could there be a larger issue??Thanks. chuck's

Auto or regular? If Auto 4W a good transfer case capable scanner willtest it out for you. Does transfer case shift right or just light not right?

Used a snap-on scanner the other night and the scanner shows that the tranfer case is shifting. It also indicated that the light circuits were ok.I will now check how much the switches are worth. It is an auto tranfer case.Even with the scanner connected, the indicator lights were not illuminating properly.Chuck's

The solder joints inside the switch crack, its just a matter of taking the switch apart and resoldering the connections.

Finally got to look at the switch.Found that the three pins of the three pin connector had the solder joints broken.Took some solder, an iron and resoldered the pins. The indicator lamps now work.
