2004 Rendezvous.....gas smell
2004 Buick Rendezvous, 81,000
When I am stopped at a stop sign or stop light, I can smell gas pretty strong. But I never smell it as I am driving, but only when it's stopped. Any ideas on what it could be, thanks for your help.

If I remember correctly, many of the 2003 / 2004 RDV models have a FREE TSB fix for gas smells. If one smells gasoline within their vehicle, one's GM dealer replaces the gas tank's gas spout pipe. Something about main vent pipe and its air release valve (or, tank over flow little pipe) "can" develop a leak. If one's vehicle gets such a gas smell leak, it's fixed for free - by their GM dealer. If wondering, I have a letter from GM for my wife's 2003 RDV. If our RDV leaks gas smell as well, I simply show my local GM dealer this letter and they fix it (for free).
With above in mind, simply call your nearest GM dealer - to inquire about this TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) "free fix". Good luck. .
