2000 Lincoln Town Car Rear Brakes

Hi,

I was about to replace the rear brakes on my sisters Lincoln Town Car, but when I went to buy the brake pads I was asked if the calipers are Phendic or Steel? What type of calipers are on the car?

Re: 2000 Lincoln Town Car Rear Brakes

It's a good chance they are steel caliper pistons. You can test by seeing if a magnet sticks to them. From what I was told, phenolic pistons were mainly used for Police Interceptors.
