Fujimi 1985 Porsche Turbo
Here's the latest from my workbench. This is Fujimi's Enthusiast Model Porsche 911 Turbo from 1985. Typical of the Enthusiast series of kits, there are a bunch of fiddly little parts that cause many headaches for the scale modeler. Paint is Model Master Fathom Green Metallic lacquer with Rustoleum clear, if I recall correctly, though it may be Tamiya clear. Interior is a mix of Tamiya acrylics but I can't remember what colors I used. There are things I like about this build and things I don't really like, but I'm pleased enough overall to present it here. The photos aren't great because the light was bad today. I may try to take some better photos when the sun shines again.

Re: Fujimi 1985 Porsche Turbo
Wow, you used MM enamels for the body? Rare to see enamels still used for the body. Nice work overall! Classic color combo.

Re: Fujimi 1985 Porsche Turbo
Excellent result! I know how annoying the enthusiast kits can be as I built a 930 Cabriolet some years ago.

Re: Fujimi 1985 Porsche Turbo
Beautiful build. Those Fuchs wheels are really well done. I have been looking forward to building one of the Enthusiast kits when I clear some current stuff out of the way but given my glacially slow progress it may be some time yet. Yours is very inspiring though and very, very, cool.

Re: Fujimi 1985 Porsche Turbo
Thanks for the compliments, folks. These kits certainly can try a modeler's patience, but they are rewarding, too.
The wheels and tires on this one are just magnificent. They really do make a difference in the overall result. I doubt I'd build another one of these because it really isn't one of my favorite Porsches (I got this kit as part of a lot of four Enthusiast Porsches). But I will build more of the 356s Fujimi makes. |

Re: Fujimi 1985 Porsche Turbo
Well, the color is hard to capture even with more sunlight. I took more pictures, but they don't really show off much more of the car.
I do like this one, though:
