brake pedal going to the floor after my intake gasket job

Okay I just did my UIM and LIM gaskets. The ONLY brake related item that gets touched during that job is the vacuum line that goes to the brake booster, and it literally just clicks out and then clicks back in. The o-ring on it is a bit worn, but would a leak here cause the pedal to go to the floor? I thought a leak here would 1) cause the engine to run rough and 2) cause braking to be harder, not cause the pedal to just go to the floor?

Fluid was a little low in the reservoir so I added some with no affect on the problem. I have looked at the master cylinder, the front calipers and the ABS Unit for leaks and didn't see any leaking fluid. I will check the rears when it stops pouring rain outside.

Solve one problem and another COMPLETELY unexpected one comes up. I guess this is better than my gasket job failing but ARGH!!!

Based on what you say sounds like the master failed.

Usually the pedal going to the floor is a sign that the master cylinder has failed. I think this is just coincidence.

If you pump the brake a few times with the engine off, does it firm up and stay up, or does it still sink to the floor? It should firm up after a few pumps and the pedal should remain high without sinking.

Well I'm pretty sure I discovered a leak actually. It's at the rear driver side somewhere. Gotta clean up the garage and get it in out of the rain for a better look. Thanks for the replies... I will update when this living hell of automotive suffering has been resolved.
