92 bonnie no first gear
hello all, I need help with my 92 bonneville sse. i don't know what occurred but it seems the car has no first gear. if I start the car and place the car in drive and accelerate the car just revs up and hardly moves. I found that if i place the car in "1" then i can accelerate slowly and the car goes; once the car gets up to 15 MPH then i can shift to drive and the car operates normally until i stop. then i have to place the car in "1" in order for the car to accelerate again.
I get a code of 17 when I place the ODBI scanner. Help!!! Thx.

The code does not refer to this issue, no downshift to first is related to internal issues, such a a bad solenoid. This may not be something a " dyer" can tackle. It could also be in 3rd gear default, someone knowledgable in this are needs to check this out onsite.
