06 Tibute with 3.0L no throttle?

When you drive it, it feels like the throttle cable broke as vehicle would just idle when I hit the interstate. I coasted to the shoulder then shut it off and restarted and it was good to go for about another 30 min. then did it again. I had it towed hom as I was afraid it might do it while crossing traffic, it seems OK now, but I'm sure it will do it again..any ideas?

Not sure if that vehicle has a throttle cable or a wireless throttle. Sounds like it is wireless to me which would mean that you probably have a bad throttle positioning sensor or TPS for short. You describe that exact scenerio in you post. Did that service engine light come on??

I have seen on both, a Drive- by -wire & cable driven throttle plates get sticky.
