Here's what my Toyota Repair Manual shows in the wiring diagram. This is for an '89 4x4 Xtra-cab SR5 v6.

It shows 9 wires.

1. To the Auto Antenna
R-W
R-L

2. To the 7.5A radio fuse
GR

3. Front LH speaker
LG
L

4. Front RH speaker
P
V

5. Dome light fuse
L-Y

6 Common ground
W-B


Abbreviations
R = Red
W = White
L = Blue
GR = Gray
LG = Light Green
P = Pink
V = Violet
Y = Yellow

Hyphenated wires represent solid-stripe.

My radio has a fade control, but no speakers in the rear. The diagram does not show wiring for rear speakers. I don't recall if any '89 trucks came with it.
