How to fix rust on my 1990 Ford Escort Lx
It's a 1990 Ford Escort Lx with a 1.9l efi engine. The car only has 80,000 miles on it and it runs great. I got it for 350 bucks and no problems yet but my friends are being asses and they're insulting me about the rust. It is mainly on the fenders and I don't know how to fix it lol. Can you help a newbie?

If you want a permanent fix you'll have to replace the fenders or cut the rust portiions out and weld in a new piece. Altough it may not last, I would cut the rust portions out and fill in areas using bondo. If the rust area cut out is larger than 2-3 inches use fiberglass mat along with the bondo. Of course, you'll have to get the car painted after you do that.

Call around to your local salvage. Shouldn't be any trouble finding fenders for it as old as it is. No disrespect intended.
