PLEASE HELP !!! Security light stays on after car starts

Hello to all - my wife has a 2004 Alero GLS which I can honestly say has given us more problems that hurricane Katrina gave the people of New Orleans ... we have been through the whole " not starting , must do a pass-code relearn/reset for 10 minutes "-MANY TIMES which is complete SHIT , but now the security light stays on even after the car starts and runs - no matter what. I have searched and searched and cannot find a similar post - if ANYONE has any advice , I would be very grateful. thank you so much - Alero H8ter

You are fortunate it still starts. Take it to the GM dealership and see what body control module (BCM) codes come up.

Thanks - I was trying to avoid GM at all costs , I am prone to attacking those who rip me off. thanks for the reply though - we are going to a mechanic friend armed with the information.

I have 2001 Alero 2.4 liter 4 cyl
I have a same problem. The security light on my Alero stays on and cars runs fine.
Please tell me what was your findings.

Could be the beginning of a wheel bearing hub going bad as bazzar as that sounds. If another idiot light comes on (check engine or trac light I think it is) that'll confirm it.
