Smile Re-solder defrost connector in Rear WIndow

I have Chevy Tahoe 2007, and the connector for rear defrost in the rear window is loose.
Somebody knows how can I re-solder the connector to the glass and get working again the rear defrost?
Dealer said change the whole glass !!!.

Thanks:

It all depends on how and where it is broken.

If you can see the wire on both sides where it is broke give it a try.

Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

since the connector was torn from the grid circuit , this would be not very much a reliable repair ...It is possible to solder a jumper wire from the grid to this lug..with careful cleaning and the use of a soldering iron with a variable temp control ...then after this is electrically secure the use of a glass epoxy to bond this lug to the glass..

then tape the lug to hold it there ..until it sets up totally ..then I would put some duct tape to try to protect this from further damage..

if the grid circuit had a break in it there are conductive paints that I have used to repair these small runs in the glass..your problem is however in a bad area..
