Regal with sensor problem

I just recently purchased two Buick regal GS's 1997.5 and a 98 i have a problem getting the service vehicle soon light abs and traction off light when i purchase the vehiclce the owner told me that a mechanic broke a wheel sensor and it needed to be repaired. So i repaired the line by soldering back together no good still on i had it scanned and it showed all sensors and what ever else that was in error the mechanic said that it was probably the brain to the system the ebtcm can these fault or short out i found one of these modules at the junk yard i havent put it on cause it kind of warped from heat i read that these ground out on the box and melt on the casing is this true and is the GS the only model this module comes on having hard time finding a replacemant any assistance would be grateful

When do the ABS, SVS and Trac Off lights come on? When the vehicle is stationary or moving?

The EBTCM module from the same year Regal LS model should be the same at least up to 1998. In 1999 GM changed the ABS braking system and it uses some different components to include location. Are you sure the wheel sensors are good. What did the scan tool say on wheel sensor comparative output?

The lights are on as soon as the ignition is turned over and remain on i was not able to get out put codes on hub sensors at the time of scann but as i said it showed as if all sensors were bad all four wheels and and i believe power steering now thier is something that i forgot to mention until just reading on this form when i bought the car the steering rack housing the die cast was broke in half dont know how car does not appear to have been in accident when we finished installing sat the car down sitting still the car has no power steering at all i thought the line might be crossed im not sure could just be pump could that be a cause of lights also before i change this module which one is it thier is one on the left a smaller box with two gears then the one on the right sitting on the brake booster which one is the ebtcm the dealer said it showwed the one on left on this form some one said under the booster dont want to change wrong thing also can i check the sensors with a test light any help will b most apreciated thanks
