1996 SHO Cam Sprocket
I am looking to buy a 1996 SHO from a small town dealer. Is there a visual way of telling if the Cam sprocket has been welded. The car is in mint condition. It has 130000 miles. Is there any thing else I should out for. Thanks for any help.

Re: 1996 SHO Cam Sprocket
The only way I'm aware of the check if the cams have been welded is to remove the valve cover and visually inspect for welds. If they seller has documentation/receipt that the welding has been performed that may be proof enough. The other things to look for are pretty much the common items with other Taurii, suspension components, transmission shift characteristics, brake lines, and door pin switches.

Re: 1996 SHO Cam Sprocket
if you wind up buying the car without knowing if the cams are welded and dont mind a bit of a drive Eric Leahman out of Lombard Il. will weld your cams for under 600.00 includes cleaning of intakes , oil change and plugs best part if he opens it up and they`ve been welded theres no charge, the only way to know is by removing valve covers. you can find information on his work by googling who welds sho cams this guy knows these cars in and out you will not be disappointed
