Blazer 96 A/C problem

After recharging my A/C it worked for a month and then quit working. I took it to a mechanic and he tested it. He told me that he could find nothing wrong and no leaks. I recharged it again and after about a month it quit working again. How can I fix it if the tests show nothing wrong? Do I need to replace the A/C unit itself?

Number one leak location on your Blazer is compressor belly-- is yours oily or greasy? If so- you have found your leak--I see a lot of them.

Re: Blazer 96 A/C problem

i don't mean to horn in on your thread, but i have a question. can the leak on the compressor be fixed at a reasonable cost, or is it best to replace the compressor ??

Re: Blazer 96 A/C problem

I fix them all- but, then I have the special tools to pull them apart-- I put new o-rings in all three positions- between the cylinders, and front and rear heads-- as well as a new shaft seal- double-lip style. Unless you've done a few, I'd say you are better off to buy new-
