radio wiring

im trying to install my stereo but the only problem is that i cant figure out which wire is the accessory. i have tried to change the wires as much as i can without shocking my self. all my wires i think are original to the car and are discolored. if there is anybody out there who can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: radio wiring

You aren't going to shock yourself from the 12V DC to the radio. Get a cheap volt meter and test the wires with the key on. One of the black wires is probably ground so one of the other colored wires should have 12V when the key is on.

Re: radio wiring

quick google search turned up this:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...7210641AAelHm4

looks like the yellow is the switched 12V. Black/white is ground. You didn't state what year your car was, so this is for a 2000, and likely newer as well.
