Re: 1999 Toyota Corolla Code P0301

Maybe clogged EGR port 1.
The engine is running good? Engine light is flashing sometime or just always on?

A Windstar without having the check engine light is not a real Windstar.

Re: 1999 Toyota Corolla Code P0301

the light is always on and when i start the car for the first time in the morning when i leave for work itll start blinking but then stop after maybe a minute tops.

the engine runs ok but there is definiteley a noticeable lack of power and it will stutter when i start going

Re: 1999 Toyota Corolla Code P0301

Is your antifreeze low?

Mine had P0300, P0301, P0302 when I bought it..

It was misfiring because coolant was leaking into the combustion chambers..

I replaced the head gasket... solved that problem. (had to get the head shaved because it was warped, though)

Anyhow if it seems like it's using coolant, or if you smell coolant, you may have a head gasket leak. If that's the case, as long as you keep the coolant topped off it should be ok until you can get it replaced. (toyota wants a heap of money to do it... I did it myself and it cost me about $300.. would have been cheaper but I replaced the timing chain while I had it apart)

Another thought, do you burn oil? If cylinder 1 burns too much oil, it can misfire.
It can be also a vacuum leak.
