1996 burb 2500 ABS

Hello all, my 96 burb front brakes pull side to side rapidly when coming to a stop, the harder i push the worse pulls. Im sure it has something to do with the ABS but not sure witch route to go. It is the hydraulic buster that is connected to the power steering pump. the system does have a leak and will fix that first but not sure if that would cause the problem, other then alot of air in the system???

It is a 2 wheel drive, 454 cid, with no eng. light on. Also is there a way to change this system from hydraulic to a vacuum assit booster??

your problem with these symtoms is normally warped rotors and also worn brake pads ...if the rotors are warped may be the calipers are defective as well ...

when the ABS goes you get a rapid pulsing when going at very slow speeds like 5mph...which causes NO BRAKING ....it does not effect steering in any way ..

with a leak in your brake fluid you may have to replace many brake componets due to fluid contamination ...lots of luck ...

I'd check the calipers/pads, likely a caliper is hanging/seized. Is the brake system leaking, or the hydroboost? 2 separate systems.
I certainly wouldn't replace the hydroboost with a standard vac assist booster, esp if you have a 3/4 ton. You'd have to replace the power steering hoses too, since they route through the booster.
