96 aerostar #4 misfire
I have done a complete tune-up: plugs, wires, coil pack, etc. Still running very rough and throwing code of #4 misfire. Any ideas?

Re: 96 aerostar #4 misfire
The next thing that would occur to me would be a bad fuel injector.
And if you run it for a few miles, then check out the color of the spark plugs - a very dark plug would indicate an injector that was stuck open. If its light or white in color - an injector that is stuck shut. Both can happen. With enough toil and trouble, you could swap two injectors, and see if the code changed, but be sure to swap it to another cylinder that isnt fired at the same time as cyl #4 is. If still no change, might be time to do a compression check on the engine - lifters can also fail. Usually this would result in a lifter-tick though. |
