Power window problem 93 f250

My driver side window stopped working. I can still put the passenger window up and down but the driver wont do a thing. I assume its not the fuse. Whats the logical next step? Is the motor bad? How do I know for sure?

Watch your volts guage when you hit the switch. If it moves to the left you'll know you have power to the switch and probably the motor.

take the door panel off then check it with a 12v light bulb or a test lamp at the motor

Re: Power window problem 93 f250

Ok so this has me a bit lost. Originally both windows has stopped working. Then the passenger was working for like 2 days and now not working again....the volt meter drops to pushing the button for either window so it would seem to me the power is there. Hard to believe that both motors went at the same time though. So is it something electrical maybe? Could the switch not be relaying power?

In other words,if you have power to the motors(and the ground side is known to be good. You have a bad motor(s).
If this is intermedent(sp) to both motors, threw both switches.I would look for an open circut from the pw switches to motor.

I don't know if i fully get what you said. (not a big car guy here) Are you saying both motors are bad? or there is circuit problem?
Could the fuse possibly be bad but still show the volt meter dropping?

Would it not be very odd for both motors to go out at once?

Thanks a lot

Re: Power window problem 93 f250

I have a '92 that had the same problem. It turned out to be both motors failed and the switch for the drivers. There is a screw that holds the switch plate in. Pick up a inexpensive test light at the autoparts store and connect the ground to the door hinge or some bare metal (you may have to scrape some paint away) then use the probe on the switch terminals with the key on. Press the switch and check them again and another post should light up. Sorry I cant remember the colors that do what bur that should tell you if the switch is ok. if all seems well then take off the door panels, use the test light on the wire that comes from the motor and press the switch again if it lights up but does nothing the motor is bad.
