01 Town Car OD Light flashes

01 Lincoln Town Car with a flashing OD light, i pulled the codes.
P1783- Trans Over Temp condition.
P0712- Trans Fluid temp Sensor Low Input.

Anyone know what could be causing these codes. Tranny fluid is a little dirty but full.
Put some Shutter Fix in about 2 years ago because of a problem with trans shuttering when going into overdrive. I seen alot of problems with the OD light flashing on the internet but no resolutions.

Re: 01 Town Car OD Light flashes

So you put something in the Transmission other than Transmission Fluid and now the light flashes - two years later?

Re: 01 Town Car OD Light flashes

Its hard to say, If I were you, I would flush the transmission and put Lucas in it. The shuddering problem you had a few years back is very common with theses cars. I don't believe the 2 are related. Also might be just a bad sensor or a short. I am not sure where the sensor is located though.

Re: 01 Town Car OD Light flashes

I know the sensor is located under the oil pan. I was just checking to see if it was something common that someone on here had a FIX for.
