Rear Wheel Bearings

I went to replace my rear pads and rotors on my 1999 GTP yesterday, only to get one side done and find out the other side had a bent lug stud. All the other lugs seemed to be torqued right, but someone must have used an impact gun on the fifth one and bent it to hell and back. Long story shorter...the stud broke when I tryed to pull the lug, and I am having problems getting my wheel bearing off.

To this point I have pulled the pads, caliper, rotor, and the 4 bolts that are on the mating surface of the hub. No luck after pulling and pulling and finally renting a hub puller (I guess it only works on the front hubs). Did I miss anything? I can't seem to find and other bolts holding the damn thing in. I don't know if it makes a difference, but it's the driver's side rear hub that is stuck. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-Justin-

Re: Rear Wheel Bearings

Why not just leave it bolted in and replace the stud?

The bearing/hub is rusted into the knuckle. If its the style with the abs sensor in the hub you will ruin it trying to remove it from the knuckle/backing plate as it will require a fair amount of hammering from the back side to get it to pup.

Much easier to just replace the stud and a lot cheaper as well. A couple of good wacks with a hammer and the old one should pop right out.
