2005 Chevy Cavalier - Add two 12V AC outlets...
I want to install two 12V AC Outlets next to the cigarette lighter on the passengers side in my 05 Cavalier so that I can plug in two laptops or smaller devices... According to the laptop power supply that I have, it says 90W so I'm guessing it'd be using between 160W - 200W for two laptops.
That being said, could I splice into the existing cigarette lighters power supply or would I have to run a new wire? If I'd have to run a new wire, how would you suggest doing it? Thanks |

Re: 2005 Chevy Cavalier - Add two 12V AC outlets...
If you must have 2 AC adapters, Why not buy the double socket adapters then add your two AC converters to it?
Could also just charge up one at a time. Its less power drain on your alternator. You alternator will not last as long if you add more power draws. I have replaced 2 alternators on mine from normal usage. Occasionaly phone charge. Mine has 285,000 miles on it. |
