It's true it is hard to find a mechanic who would touch a Yugo, but with the help of various repair manuals, an average mechanically inclined owner can do everything, they are easy to work on.
It's a shame, because the Yugo is a very friendly car for a novice mechanic to start working on. But even so, alot of people still don't feel confident trying to fix their cars.

And mr. Oldsmobile driver, wait another 15 years and see what your parts and service situation is - then it can actually be compared to that of the Yugo currently.
