2009 Camry SE engine cutting out on hard acceleration

My Camry is an 09, 2.4 SE. 161,000 miles. Under hard acceleration the engine starts to miss kinda like the rev limiter is kicking in but it’s doing it around 3,500-4,000 RPM. I’ve replaced the plugs and coils. Had Advanced auto parts pull the codes and it says my Crankshaft position sensor is bad. I got the sensor, my friend who has an expensive computer that reads the codes said it doesn’t even show the crank sensor being bad that it’s giving a code that the transponder key is bad. Car starts and runs fine until you have to give it a lot of throttle then the CEL and traction and VSC lights come on after it starts to miss.

Has anyone else had this issue? Before I pay $300 for Toyota to make me a new key and program it to the car should I go ahead and swap that crankshaft position sensor? This is the first Toyota that I’ve ever had issues with like this.

Thanks!
