Yeah, for sure I would go for the Tamiya kits first time. There is minimal mold flash to clean off, the parts fir beautifully, and the subjects are often very good.
The Tamiya Subaru I am doing on another thread in this forum is a great starters model, and the colours needed are minimal due to the lights being pre-coloured.
